 Welcoming Romil Parikh into Leadership

As another school year draws to a close, we find ourselves on the edge of something both meaningful and momentous: the next chapter in the Paradise School journey.

We’re delighted to formally welcome Romil Parikh into a more active leadership role at Paradise. Though many of you may know Romil as a behind-the-scenes presence since he became a partner in 2021, his quiet strength and vision have been instrumental in building the foundation for what’s next.

From the very beginning, Romil was drawn to Paradise not just as an educational institution, but as a living, breathing philosophy. As someone who has led and advised multiple progressive schools—including Mumbai’s Green Acres Academy, now home to over 6,000 students, and DSB International School, a globally recognized institution—Romil brings a powerful combination of experience, empathy, and long-term thinking.

Over the last two years, he’s already had a profound impact: transforming our Parra campus into a state-of-the-art learning space, strengthening core systems, and supporting our educators with world-class mentorship and structure. As a father of two himself, Romil deeply understands the responsibility that comes with shaping the future of our children—and he’s committed to making sure Paradise becomes a beacon for both academic excellence and values-based education.

“I believe Paradise is uniquely positioned to offer the best of both worlds: the joy and freedom of growing up in Goa, and an education that meets global standards,” says Romil. “My role is to bring greater clarity, structure, and sustainability—so we can keep growing without losing the heart of what makes us special.”

His vision includes expanded academic offerings, a stronger feedback and accountability culture, richer extracurricular programming, and deeper support for both students and staff. With a global outlook and a firm commitment to Paradise’s ethos of peace, individuality, and integrity, Romil’s leadership marks a thoughtful evolution in the life of the school.

Of course, this moment also marks a farewell—for now—to our Founder, Shilpa Mehta, whose vision and heart brought Paradise into being over a decade ago. What began as a labour of love for her daughter has become a nurturing home for so many families. Shilpa’s fearless creativity, deep care for children, and insistence on doing things differently have left an indelible mark.

“Paradise has always been more than a school—it’s been a shared dream, a love letter to Goa, and a bold reimagining of what education can be,” says Shilpa. “As I step away to explore what’s next for me, I do so with deep pride and even deeper trust in Romil’s leadership.”

As we move forward, we remain rooted in the values that have always guided us—community, compassion, curiosity, and courage. Under Romil’s guidance, Paradise is poised not only to grow but to flourish in ways that reflect the evolving needs of today’s learners and tomorrow’s world.

We are deeply grateful for Shilpa’s founding fire, and equally excited for the steady light Romil now brings to lead us into the future.
